International Democratic Education Conference

Democratic education is an ideology that emphasises student empowerment and encourages students to participate in decision-making processes within their school communities. It proposes that education should not only educate students for future vocations, but also equip them to be active and engaged citizens in their communities.

International Democratic Education Conference (IDEC)

International Democratic Education Conference (IDEC) is the primary venue for educators, researchers and advocates of democratic education from around the world. The conference provides a forum for the sharing of ideas and practises with the goal of advancing democratic ideals and principles in education.

Attendees at IDEC have the opportunity to participate in workshops, keynote presentations, and panel discussions with top experts in the field of democratic education at the conference. The goal is to motivate and assist educators in implementing democratic practices in their classrooms and schools. IDEC 2024 will happen in Taiwan in July with three different schools from Taiwan hosting the event. To know more, see IDEC 2024.
